For the musical "Oz", there are 21 speaking parts and then chours memebers. We can expand the speaking parts if necessary. To get a speaking part, you will need to do a monologue and sing part of a song.

For auditions, choose a monologue that you would like to perform. The ages listed are only suggestions. If you have your own monologue, that is at least
1-2 minutes long, you may use it. The mononlogue does not need to be memorized. What we are looking for with your monologue is, are you just reading or reciting it, or do you deliver your monologue with emotion and character? Do you use facial expressions, body language, and use the stage.

You will also need to sing a piece of a song after your monologue. You can choose to sing with the vocals or just the music. The lyrics are only a section of the song. Again, you do not need to have this memorized. We are looking for volumne, are you on pitch, are you putting emotion and feeling into the song? These are fun songs - really get into them!

Auditions can be fun and exciting! It is a time to let go and give it all you've got. We want to encourage everyone to try an audition. We will give you as much or as little help as you need.

The 5th-8th grade group only needs to prepare a monologue.
